When I first came to Alternacare, I was looking for an alternative to modern medicine.  My doctor had just diagnosed me with graves disease (hyperthyroidism), and told me I had to take a thyroid medication and a beta blocker or I would have a heart attack or stroke, and possibly die.  I had all the common symptoms for graves disease including heart racing, tremors, hormone imbalance, high blood pressure and pulse, and hair loss.  I literally felt like my body was dying.  I had no energy to do anything.

I didn’t feel it was the Lord’s will for me to cover up the symptoms with prescription meds, which the doctor told me would probably not work anyway for my situation, and I would have to have my thyroid removed.

After visiting Alternacare, I learned that there was a reason my body wasn’t functioning properly.  It has now been about 5 months since I started the holistic journey and I feel great.  Most of my symptoms are gone, and the few remaining are diminishing.

Thank you for saving my life!  I am looking forward to great results when I go back to the doctor next month, and get my blood work results.

I had twenty stubborn pounds that I just couldn’t lose. I had reached a point where I believed that I had reached the age where women just hold onto weight. Before I gave up and bought a new wardrobe of bigger clothes, I met with Dr. Rob, who convinced me to try the ideal Protein Diet. With great skepticism, I agreed to give it a try.. I set a goal to lose five pounds in two weeks. To my surprise, I lost ten pounds in two weeks! Filled with new enthusiasm, I stuck with the diet, and within six weeks had met my twenty pound goal that I never thought I’d reach! Thanks so much, Dr. Rob.

 I suffered from insomnia, fatigue, weight, skin rashes. I could go for 2-4 days without sleep. I would drink 1-2 32oz of soda each day to stay awake, worked out for 2-4 hours (3x) a week w/no weight loss. Skin rash would flare up especially during seasonal changes.

Now, I have a good night’s rest each day, since July 2011, I haven’t had any need for soda to stay awake. With the program, I’ve lost approximately 35 lbs. I’ve done it without stepping into a gym. I’ve also been able to maintain my weight which, I’ve never been able to do before.   My skin Rash has cleared up and I feeling fantastic! I look forward to my continued weight loss. More importantly, feeling healthier than I’ve ever felt before!

When I first came to Alternacare I was incredibly desperate for help! For 10 years, I’ve been diagnosed with IBS with constipation ( since I was 15). I have been to several doctors, including a few different gastro doctors, and the only thing they do is prescribe pills to help the situation. Well I didn’t want HELP, I wanted answers, and a cure if possible. Needless to say, those pills wouldn’t work very long, so I gave up and tried to watch what I ate (which is hard because I LOVE FOOD!) I was going through the mail and saw an ad for Alternacare , read the “do you feel’ and my husband said “that sounds like you, baby!” So I came in and poured my heart out to Chuck about the terrible pains I had, the bloating, and the fatigue, and then got started with Dr. Truax. Now…..my IBS pains are COMPLTETELY GONE, my bloating only comes once a month, I have more energy and focus, and I’ve lost about 10 lbs! I had suffered many years with low back issues and poor diet for years.

I had had MRI’s done, seen different chiropractors throughout Georgia and was even, at one point, bedridden for almost 3-6 months! Our son has always suffered from seasonal allergies. Two years ago, he began
complaining of daily stomachaches. His pediatrician diagnosed him with IBS and
told us to take a Prevacid every day. Months went by, then a year, and the pain
continued accompanied by constant diarrhea. His pediatrician said to keep
taking the Prevacid. I insisted that we do something, so she referred us to a Gastroenterologist at Scottish Rite. They told us that IF there was anything wrong with him, a Prevacid a day FOREVER would take care of it. By now, two years had gone by and I did not know where to turn. He would cry every morning after eating breakfast from the pain. They kept giving him drugs for the symptom but never tried to find the cause. We had almost given up hope when we met Dr. Rob.

After being under Dr. Rob’s care and taking his supplements, he has no pain. His digestion is normal and as an added bonus, he has not suffered from seasonal allergies since his treatment began. I was diagnosed with pre-diabetes concerns and I was overweight due to menopause, depression and sleeplessness.  I was introduced to Alternacare by a co-worker and after about three weeks working with Dr. Truax and Nola, I began to feel energetic, my sleep wasn’t interrupted during the nights as much and I started to lose weight.  After about a month, I visited my endocrinologist and I no longer had a diabetes concern.  My blood sugar glucose has become stable and I don’t have to worry any longer whether I’m going to become a diabetic.  Even though I wasn’t being treated for thyroid problems, my medication was reduced from .125 mg to .112.  My diet and learning the proper way to eat helped me to not be overly tired during the day and night.  I am very pleased with the results that I’ve achieved at Alternacare thus far.  My goal is to lose 25 to 30lbs total and I’ve lost 19lbs thus far.

It has now been a year since I first visited your offices and began the holistic total well-ness program.  At age 82 I feel better and enjoy better health that I did when I was 75.    Even though I did not need to lose a lot of weight, the weight that I did lose had a lot to do with the way I feel.  Not only did I lose the weight I was carrying but I lost two inches in my waist.    My arthritis pain is under control and I get around with ease.  In fact, I am enjoying playing golf once more (and with passion I might add).    I got through the allergy season with flying colors and without the stuffy-runny nose and itchy eyes that I had before ‘Alternacare’.    I have not had a headache or a cold in over a year.  In other words, I feel great and I owe much of this to you and your staff.
